When I reflect on my 2016, all I can say is, “Woah”.  On this journey around the sun I have experienced so many high highs, and too many low lows.  I have witnessed marriages, mourned the loss of a dear pet, prayed for family members struck with cancer, reconnected with numerous friends, and started preparing for the next chapter in my life.  Here were some of the highlights of my year.

January started with a new year's celebration with friends from Shanghai, a Madonna concert, and a trip to the world's largest bat in Louisville.

In February, we said goodbye to our dear little Ditka, and I got a job substitute teaching in a local school district.

In March and April, we had a blast at Whiskeyfest in Chicago, and celebrated Easter with family in St. Louis.  We also had a great time camping at Red River Gorge in Southern Kentucky and reconnecting with high school friends in St. Louis.

In May, I had took a fantastic road trip with an old friend and celebrated the Kentucky Derby with my little lady.  We also celebrated my birthday with a road trip to Cleveland!

June, July and August were filled with family and fun.  I visited friends and family across the country and spent a week on Captiva Island with my family.

We also had some fun adventures around the Cincinnati Area.  We caught a few Cards/Reds games, a NASCAR race at Kentucky Speedway, and a Guns n Roses concert at Paul Brown Stadium.

We then spent September and October celebrating weddings, visiting vineyards in Napa and Sonoma California,  and celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary.

November and December were spent celebrating the holidays with family.  Two of the biggest highlights were being able to host Thanksgiving in my own home and surprising my niece and nephew with an impromptu visit to Philadelphia in December.  We finished the year off with a visit to Cincinnati Santa-con and a tour of the Midwest.  I also learned I would be getting a new sister in law in the next year or two!

2016 was a fun, emotional year.  I apologize for not keeping up with the blog.  Much of the second half of this year has been spent substitute teaching and preparing for major life changes that Chris and I will be able to announce soon.

Until I post again, happy holidays and Happy New Year!!  May your 2017 be filled with adventures near and far!
